Palmer's House, Kauai

Project: A contemporary hawaiiana style pavilion composition. A complex 6500sf program develops in 5 pavilions around a centre courtyard. ADA accessibility is a requirement. Water systems and view alignments flow throughout buildings and
gardens creating a dynamic and engaging living space. Solar panels delicately integrated in the roofs through use of dormers specially designed and scaled to its size and proportioned to the building.
Responsibilities: Architect Project manager, designer in close collaboration with principal architect. 3.5 years of full time dedication to this project, from concept to construction, from massing to knob design, commitment to its clients and general contractor. Performed all stages of project, from rendering, 3dmodels, cad, construction documents, client, consultant and contractor coordination and construction supervision.

Namahana Residence, Kauai
2012

5000sf contemporary residence with a blend of New York Urban, Hawaiian and Japanese taste. The house hugs the knoll on one side and spans across the plateau in 3 different levels, overlooking the Namahana ridge in an unique and secluded site. Spacious, open, yet protected from heavy mountain rains. Site grading and height changes are a challenge. Solar panels embraced in the design from the very beginning, assured a perfect orientation and a dedicated
yet architecturally integrated roof in the overall

Makaleha House, Kauai

Small budget to develop a 900sf cottage for a young couple. The design takes advantage of incredible views of Makaleha falls openings the house to them at one corner, while the roof pitch adjusts for optimal sun angle for a solar system, developing a creative and dynamic form.
